Why am I not allowed to access my son/daughter's account without their permission?
The student is financially responsible for their account, and is protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). However, students may give parents/others online access to their accounts by inviting their parents to be another payer on WebSTAC. Students may authorize Student Accounting staff to share information with parents.
My parents are separated/divorced. How can I make sure that each parent receives a copy of my bill?
Students may direct where to send their tuition bills in WebSTAC. This can be found under Billing Records and then Send Bills to. Undergraduate bills are automatically sent to the student's home address and Graduate bills are automatically sent to the student's local address. If another copy is needed, that address needs to be added and then directed to have a bill sent to.
Why did I not receive a paper bill in the mail this month?
Paper bills are not sent out for students who have a zero balance on their accounts. The student could also have opted out of receiving paper bills. If this is the case, you will receive an email notification saying there is an e-bill ready for you.
I would like to pay the student's account, but I can't log into the account. What can I do?
If you are the parent you need to have the student invite you to be another payer. The student would do this through their WebSTAC account. If you do not wish to do this you can either mail a check in or wire the money to our bank account. See Methods of Payment for more information.
I don't remember my username and password. Can you tell me how to access them?
If you are a student you need to contact Student Records for that information. If you are a parent, there is a place on E-Billing home page if you have forgotten your username and password.
Why is the balance in WebSTAC different then the WU Tuition Bill?
The balance in WebSTAC is a current balance. It shows all the account activity as of the current date. The amount on your WU Tuition Bill is the amount due at the end of a specific month.

Why is there a Student Accounting Hold on my account?
Student Accounting Holds are placed on accounts with past due balances. In order to have the hold removed, you must pay your account balance in full. Until the balance due is paid you will not be allowed to drop/add a class, request a transcript, or register for classes for the following semester.
I added or dropped a class on my schedule. When will my account be adjusted?
From the time the student first registers for classes until the end of the first four weeks of classes, the tuition is adjusted weekly for added or dropped classes. After the fourth week of classes the student needs to contact their school registrar to have the tuition adjusted.
What is Anticipated Financial Aid?
An anticipated credit of financial aid is posted at the beginning of the semester in order to provide a more accurate billing statement. Anticipated aid is placed on the accounts to show expected financial aid. When the actual aid is posted, the anticipated aid is reversed.
When will my financial aid post to my account?
Actual Financial Aid posts at the beginning of each semester. It is processed by Student Financial Services. For a specific date of credit, please contact at (888) 547-6670 or Financial@wustl.edu.
What portion of my statement is due if I am receiving financial assistance or outside awards?
Financial assistance, known by Student Financial Services, may be deducted from the total amount due and payment made accordingly. If any aid has been omitted or incorrectly listed on the statement, please contact Student Financial Services, (888) 547-6670, to confirm the aid may be deducted from the amount due. A 2% late fee will apply if the balance is not paid by the due date on the statement.
What are Campus Card Account Points?
The Campus Card Account is an account accessed through the Washington University ID Card, or other assigned official University card. It is administered by Washington University Dining Services and the Office of Residential Life. Terms are subject to change. For more information please see Campus Card.
Why are you holding a credit balance on my account?
If a payment was made by a check, the check must be held for 21 days before a refund can be issued. If a payment was made online, the waiting period is 7 days before a refund can be issued. If there is a TuitionPay contract indicated on the student account, any credit balance on the student account will not be refunded until the TuitionPay contract is paid in full.
How do I sign up for Direct Deposit of refunds?
The student can log onto their WebSTAC account and go to Billing Records and Pay/View My Bill. Then follow the directions at the bottom of the page under My Profile.
How can I get a copy of my 1098-T?
You can log onto www.1098T.com to get a copy of your 1098-T. You will need to know the Student ID number and the student's Date of Birth.
How can I change my billing address?
Your address can be updated on WebSTAC under Contact Information.
Is there a payment plan for past due balances?
Current students will be charged a late fee of 2% on the outstanding balance calculated after the statement due date. Students who have graduated or are no longer enrolled please contact Student Accounting (800) 758-0050 directly regarding this matter.
